Stephen A. Kastran Stephen A. Kastran

Steve handles general civil litigation including stray voltage claims, family law and domestic relation matters, wills and trusts and criminal defense. He represents several closely held corporations and is involved in forming limited liability companies and corporations.

Following graduation from Michigan State University, he attended Detroit College of Law and received his Juris Doctor in January of 1973.

The Detroit College of Law is now affiliated with Michigan State University and is known as Detroit College of Law at Michigan State University.

Following graduation, Steve was hired as an assistant prosecuting attorney in Allegan County, Michigan from April of 1973 through June of 1975.

In 1975, he commenced the partnership of Burnett & Kastran with James Burnett located at 313 Hubbard Street, Allegan, Michigan.

Steve has been a member of the State Bar of Michigan from 1973 to the present time.

He was elected as a City Councilman of Allegan and also served as Mayor Pro Tem.

Steve was a member of the Allegan County Mental Health as well as a former member of the Ottawa-Allegan County Council on Substance Abuse.

He is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and Michigan Trial Lawyers.

Steve was licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan on June 4, 1973.

He was admitted to practice before the Federal Bar, Western District of Michigan on August 14, 1975.

Steve was licensed to appear before the Supreme Court of Michigan on June 4, 1973. He was licensed to appear before the U.S. Supreme Court on June 19, 1978.

Steve is a Michigan State Bar Foundation Life Fellow.

He is a former Allegan County Bar President as well as an Allegan County State Bar Representative Assembly Member.

Steve was appointed a Special Investigator by the State of Michigan Grievance Commission on October 14, 1987.

Burnett & Kastran P.C. serve as the city attorneys for the following municipalities in Allegan County, Michigan: the cities of Otsego and Saugatuck, and the villages of Douglas and Wayland. In addition, our firm represents the following townships in Allegan County: Laketown, Lee and Gun Plains.
